John Cena has reacted to his father’s recent criticism of WWE’s choice for his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
Not for the first time throughout his son’s WWE farewell tour, John Cena Sr. recently discussed WWE’s booking of his son ahead of his final match in the company at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
During an interview, Cena Sr. said he didn’t think that GUNTHER should be the one to retire his son, before naming: Edge, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and JBL as some of his ideal picks for the spot.
During his appearance as a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, Cena mending his relationship with his dad over the years, before taking a minute to jokingly acknowledge Cena Sr’s comments about his WWE booking.
Cena said:
“Man when we sit, there’s some s**t he’ll say that’s all f**ked up, he said some s**t yesterday that like ‘I don’t think John’s last opponent should be’, and people listen to him because he’s a wrestling fan.
“He’s in the kind of weird subculture zeitgeist. And I want to call my dad and be like ‘What the f**k are you doing?
“But then like no, he’s doing what he does. This is him. This is the John Cena that I love’”
