John Cena Reacts To GUNTHER Being Confirmed As Final WWE Opponent

John Cena has reacted to GUNTHER officially earning the opportunity to challenge him in his final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The Friday, December 5 episode of SmackDown saw GUNTHER defeat LA Knight in the final of the Last Time is Now Tournament, with “The Ring General” forcing “The Mega Star” to submit.

The win confirmed that GUNTHER will face off with Cena in the 17-time world champion’s final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, and with just a week to go until that show, Cena has reacted to the Austrian earning the opportunity.

Sharing a typically caption-less image to Instagram, Cena shared a throwback image of GUNTHER during his time competing as WALTER in WWE NXT UK.

As can be seen below, the pic shows GUNTHER with the WWE NXT UK Championship, alongside former Imperium stablemates Ludwig Kaiser (fka Marcel Barthel), Giovanni Vinci (fka Fabian Aichner) and Alexander Wolfe.

Cena also took to Twitter to issue a statement ahead of his final WWE match, describing GUNTHER as an opponent he respects:
