John Cena Recalls Living In His Car Before Joining WWE

John Cena has recalled sleeping in his car while trying to make in in Los Angeles before becoming a wrestler.

16-time World Champion John Cena is currently making a name for himself in Hollywood, starring in F9, which recently released in theaters. The former WWE Champion has pointed out that when he first moved to Los Angeles, he didn’t have the same success.

Recalling his experiences in the city prior to becoming a wrestler, Cena stated that he was pursuing a career in bodybuilding at the time. Noting that his gym job didn’t pay well, Cena told The U.S. Sun:

“I slept in my car for a while, which happened to be a very roomy 1991 Lincoln Town Car. I had my clothes in the trunk and I slept in the back seat. I’d wake up, use the locker rooms and the shower and repeat the process all over again.

“Dad told me I would be home with my tail between my legs in two weeks. Sure enough, I went through my resources quickly and had to think on my feet. I didn’t want to go home crying.”

F9 will not be the only film that Cena stars in this summer. The Champ will portray Peacemaker in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is set to hit theaters on July 30.

Cena has recently discussed his previous movie roles, revealing that he only agreed to some to help make WWE more popular.

It has been reported that Cena will headline SummerSlam 2021 in a match against Roman Reigns. The Champ has noted that he doesn’t think WWE needs him to thrive.
