John Cena, despite not appearing on WWE TV since January, is confirmed to be competing at WrestleMania, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Observer states:
“It has been confirmed Cena is on the show, but who he is facing is still not apparent. There have been no hints at all. The crowd on Raw did chant for Cena after they booed the announcement of Corbin against Angle.”
It was reported earlier by WrestleVotes that WWE are ‘reconsidering’ the Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin match at WrestleMania following negative fan feedback at the underwhelming announcement.
With Cena seemingly not having an opponent set, there is a chance they might actually end up doing Angle vs. Cena, which most people expected would have been Angle’s farewell match anyway.
The other highly speculated Cena match would have been him taking on Samoa Joe, but that can be pretty much ruled out at this point as Joe will be defending his US Championship against Rey Mysterio.
WWE themselves have not yet announced that Cena will be appearing at this point in time.
