John Cena Reveals More WWE ‘Retirement Tour’ Details WWE

Doing media appearances to promote his latest film project ‘Jackpot!’, John Cena also fielded questions about his upcoming WWE retirement.

John Cena is sticking to his word regarding his upcoming last year of matches in WWE as 2025 has already been dubbed his farewell tour.

However, as it remains common place in professional wrestling for popular stars to be resurrected even after vowing they were retired, Cena does not plan on becoming a cliche.

In chatting to ComicBook, Cena revealed that he is absolutely serious about not only saying goodbye but also, making memories with WWE fans young and old.

John Cena said:

“There isn’t a check writer with enough money to change my mind when I hang it up in December.

“I don’t want to continue for ego or financial gain. I built a relationship of trust and authenticity over the years with the WWE, and that’s people who think I suck and people who believe in me, they know that I shoot them straight and I’m trustworthy.

“I mean what I say: when I’m done in December, I am done. It is the last time I will perform in a ring.”

Sharing his role in WWE after his official in-ring retirement, John Cena said:

“I’ll be a member of the WWE family as an ambassador and a grateful one.

“But you will see me wear this (points to suit), not the wristbands, the jorts, the ball cap. That, in December 2025, that goes away, and that’s the reason why we’re putting so much equity and emphasis on this farewell tour.”

Jackpot! is an upcoming action comedy film directed by Paul Feig which will be released on Amazon Prime Video starring John Cena as well as Awkwafina and Sean William Scott.

Cena announced his upcoming ‘Retirement Tour’ at WWE Money in the Bank 2024, noting that he plans on competing upon Raw’s switch over to Netflix in January 2025 through to the end of the year before officially retiring from in-ring competition.
