John Cena has confirmed his status for the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle premium live event.
WWE will take over the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on September 3 to hold WWE’s first major stadium event in the UK since 1992.
Unfortunately for John Cena fans, the 16-time World Champion has stated that he will not be at the upcoming event.
During a Q&A session at Wales Comic Con, John Cena noted:
“I’ve been coming to Cardiff to fight for 15-plus years, and every time, it’s exciting and amazing. I’m not going to be at Clash.”
Confirming that he will return to the ring one day, Cena said:
(When asked what his favorite match of his career is) “My answer is always the same. My next one. I haven’t yet hit the point where I’m fully retired, so I can always say my next one. Someday, I’ll have to reflect back and pick a favorite, but I know I’m not done with the ring, so my next one is my favorite one.”
Cena last wrestled on WWE TV at SummerSlam, unsuccessfully challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.
A huge match involving Roman Reigns is reportedly planned for WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, which you can read more about right here.
