John Cena Says He’s Still Learning From Younger WWE Stars

Despite being one of the biggest names in WWE history, John Cena still believes he has things to learn from some newer talent.

Sami Zayn tweeted over the weekend that John Cena had praised the match between Zayn and Finn Balor and that night’s house show, and Cena has expanded further about watching as many matches as he can.

Speaking on ID1OT, Cena said:

“I watch WWE. I still watch when I’m there. I watch as much of the matches as I can and I put myself in their shoes. When they do something that I wouldn’t necessarily do, it’s not like, ‘Fucking kids don’t get it. Why did they do that?’. I can learn just by watching.”

You may recall that Cena had a similar attitude last year when WWE was in the Performance Center in the lead-up to WrestleMania 36, where he made a point of watching 205 Live matches with the idea that they were probably better suited to wrestling in front of small/no crowds than he was.

Cena is set to main event SummerSlam in a Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns on August 21.

It was reported earlier that announcing Cena for WWE’s latest house show led to a 63% boost in ticket sales.
