John Cena Talks Move to NXT!?

John Cena was a recent guest at MegaCon 2018 and took part in a Q&A session where he discussed his acting, rapping, and wrestling careers.

Here are Cena’s comments on a potential move to WWE‘s ‘developmental’ brand, NXT:

“Have I made an official appearance in NXT? I know I made an appearance in the arena after they were taping a show. I wasn’t good enough that night. They had me on what they called a non-televised appearance and I figure if I work real hard I’ll get on TV.”

As shown in the above video, ‘Big Match John’ made a non-televised appearance in NXT, wherein he joined Enzo Amore and Big Cass in calling Damien Sandow “SAWFT”.

Cena continued:

“But I would love to be on the NXT television show. I’ve been around the ‘Superstars’ on Raw and SmackDown for a long time. I recently went to the NXT Performance Center where I spoke to the ‘Superstars’ for over six hours in a forum like this where I answered their questions. I was so inspired by how hard they work and how hungry they are that it makes me want to perform with them. So I hope to one day actually perform on an NXT television show.”

The 16-time WWE World Champion also spoke about why he dropped his ‘Dr. of Thuganomics’ character and the possibility of it returning in the future:

“The rating of our television show changed and I didn’t want to lose my job. But I will say this: ‘Thuganomics’ was started before you were born and I still have my degree, and I love that time in my career. But I also know where we are. I know the company that I work for, and it’s truly an honor seeing a young man like you wearing things that are close to me that I believe in. I liked it then but I really, really like it now.”

What do you make of Cena’s comments? Do you want to see him move to NXT one day? What do you think of the prospect of him returning to his ‘Dr. of Thuganomics’ persona? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter here.
