An update has emerged on John Cena’s availability in early 2023, ahead of WrestleMania 39 in April.
With the April 1-2 event set to emanate from California’s SoFi Stadium, there has recently been speculation about a number of returns WWE could have planned for the shows.
Some have speculated that John Cena, who is currently making a name for himself as a Hollywood star, could appear at the event, or even wrestle.
Dave Meltzer has shed some light on Cena’s 2023 filming schedule in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Per Meltzer, Cena will be in Australia shooting the comedy movie ‘Ricky Stanicky’ throughout February and March.
This would mean that if Cena was going to return to the ring at WrestleMania 39, he’d have to train in Australia while shooting his movie.
As the event takes place in early April, it is possible that Cena could return to the US just in time to appear on at WrestleMania 39.
In Cena’s most recent televised match, the star unsuccessfully challenged for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021.
Cena and Logan Paul recently teased a WrestleMania 39 encounter, which you can read more about right here.
