John Cena Ends Multi-Year Streaks With WWE WrestleMania 41 Win

With WrestleMania 41 now in the history books, two long-running streaks have been broken thanks to John Cena’s victory over Cody Rhodes.

In his retirement year, John Cena is now a seventeen-time world champion, having defeated Rhodes to become Undisputed WWE Champion.

This, in itself, is a record, seeing Cena break the tie he held with sixteen-time champion Ric Flair, with the WWE Hall of Famer sending his congratulations.

It was also reported that, going into the Premium Live Event, John Cena would be the first WWE star to challenge for a championship in ten different WrestleMania matches.

Cory Hays of PW Nexus has also noted two other interesting facts relating to John Cena and his recent victory.

According to Hays, the win at Night Two of WrestleMania 41 was Cena’s first televised singles win since April 27, 2018.

That date would see John Cena defeat Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Hays would also reveal that before his victory over Cody Rhodes, Cena had not won a WrestleMania singles match since March 29, 2015.

WrestleMania 31 saw Cena defeat Rusev to become WWE United States Champion at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
