A former WWE star has pitched John Cena wrestling one more match immediately after facing GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The 17-time world champion will wrap up his illustrious in-ring WWE career this Saturday, as he faces off with GUNTHER one-on-one in Washington D.C.
While Cena has been adamant publicly that his match with “The Ring General” will be his last, one former WWE star believes the company could pull off a surprise and have Cena take on one extra opponent immediately after his scheduled match.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, former WWE star and current TNA Wrestling producer Lance Storm pitched that John Cena could pick up a win over The Miz in an impromptu match if he loses to GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Storm said:
“I’m torn now. I was gonna say Cena (beats GUNTHER) for sure, but I’m wondering if the, ‘I’m gonna make you give up,’ gives Cena the moral victory when he doesn’t give up, and GUNTHER has to pin him.
“And then because Miz is doing such a big deal over the countdown of him wanting things, I’m wondering if Miz comes out at the end to make fun of him, and John Cena hits him with the AA and pins him, and everybody thinks that’s a win and we go home happy.
“I would not submit GUNTHER. I think pinning GUNTHER is fine. I would not submit GUNTHER.”

The Miz has been vocal about his desire to face John Cena before his WWE retirement on SmackDown recently, and as mentioned by Storm, has been posting a daily countdown in the lead up to Saturday Night’s Main Event by sharing pictures of he and Cena’s run-ins over the years.
Due to Sheamus being pulled from the Last Time is Now Tournament due to a shoulder injury, The Miz received two opportunities to face Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event but was eliminated by Jey Uso and LA Knight.
Lance Storm suggests The Miz could come out after John Cena's final match against GUNTHER at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event to give Cena one last victorious moment after losing to GUNTHER:
