John Cena has revealed which WWE name he has used as inspiration behind his current heel character.
Back at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025, John Cena turned heel for the first time in over 20 years – embracing a bold new direction for his character in what is his final year as an active member of the roster.
During an appearance on Stephanie’s Places, Cena gave credit to the show’s host Stephanie McMahon for playing a big role in helping in his heel run – with the 17-time world champion admitting that he “flat out steals” from the former WWE co-CEO.
Cena said:
“Can I just say I had some really good people to learn from. You are on a very short list of names that falls into.
“I flat out steal a lot from you. So, thanks for helping me through this.”
The next match in John Cena’s WWE Farewell Tour is set to come at the Money in the Bank 2025 PLE on June 7, with the Undisputed WWE Champion teaming with Logan Paul against the team of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
