John Cena made mention of the WWE departure of R-Truth during tonight’s June 6 episode of SmackDown in Bakersfield, California.
The closing angle of tonight’s show saw John Cena and Logan Paul laying out their Money in the Bank opponents tomorrow, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
As the beatdown was ongoing, the fans in attendance began chanting “We Want Truth”, referencing R-Truth who announced his WWE departure a few days ago as the company decided not to renew his contract.
Truth’s penultimate match in WWE came at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a loss to Cena.
With the chants essentially taking over the segment, Cena grabbed a microphone and specifically responded.
He said:
“You can’t handle the Truth. You want our Truth? Our Truth is right here, staring you in the face, and there’s not a damn thing you or anyone who fights for you can do about it. You hypocrites chant for Truth. You are all pathetic liars.”
The show went off the air with Cena posing with his Undisputed WWE Championship, and Paul posing with Jey Uso‘s World Heavyweight Championship.
