John Cena Shares Honest Thoughts On WWE Retirement Plans

John Cena has commented on his WWE retirement tour, sharing his out-of-character thoughts when asked about plans for his final match.

There has been a lot of speculation about John Cena’s final match, with the current WWE Champion set to hang up his jorts for good before the end of 2025.

Cena was asked what his retirement match will look like by Rachel Smith of Entertainment Tonight.

Indicating that he isn’t currently thinking about his final in-ring outing, Cena replied:

“I’ll know when I get there. Honestly, it’s a sports cliché, but I’m climbing the hill in front of me.”

He went on to reflect on his recent match against Randy Orton at Backlash. Noting that it was cool to write the final chapter of a 25 year rivalry, Cena said:

“On the WWE side, we’re just taking it one at a time. We did our last one in St. Louis, I had my last match with Randy Orton, and that was pretty cool to kind of put a close to that 25-year rivalry. As every chapter happens, it’s a different feeling for everyone.”

When the Smith asked if there’s anything he’s looking forward to or dreading heading into his wrestling retirement, Cena simply responded:

“There is a long way (to go) until December, I’ll let you know when I get there.”
