Former WWE Champion John Cena has confirmed himself for the 2025 Royal Rumble, ahead of the February 1 premium live event.
While Royal Rumble events are always filled with surprises, one return which won’t be a surprise is that of John Cena, who announced his retirement tour in July.
At Money in the Bank, John Cena stated that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41 shows will mark his last time competing at those events, ahead of his wrestling retirement in that December.
While John Cena hasn’t appeared on WWE TV much since then, WWE has shared a new video confirming that he will indeed compete at the event, with it being the first PLE stop on his retirement tour.
Cena noted in the video that this will be his last Royal Rumble event as an in-ring competitor, noting that after this, “you can’t see me”.

WWE Royal Rumble 2025 will air from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 1, 2025.
