A new update has confirmed John Cena’s WWE schedule ahead of the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
Following his runner-up placement in his final Royal Rumble match on February 1, John Cena officially declared that he will be entering the Elimination Chamber match one month later on March 1.
With his goal to main event WrestleMania and break the all-time WWE Championship reign’s record at stake, Cena will step into the ring with five others in Toronto at next month’s event – with CM Punk becoming the first to qualify on Monday’s Raw (February 3).
While we can expect Cena at the Elimination Chamber, the 16-time world champion suggested we would not see him back on WWE TV until that event, revealing after the Royal Rumble that he was due to fly to Hungary to film a new movie.
Now, we have an update on Cena’s comments courtesy of PWInsiderElite, who have confirmed that Cena is already in Budapest to film the Apple Originals film ‘Matchbox’.
As a result Cena is not slated to return to WWE programming until March 1 for the Elimination Chamber at this time.
We will provide further update on Cena’s WWE return status should anything change.
