Upcoming John Cena Match To Keep Impressive WWE Streak Alive WWE

Following his surprise appearance on the December 16 edition of SmackDown, John Cena’s next match will keep an impressive streak alive.

On Friday’s show, Cena made a video appearance to announce that he will team with Kevin Owens on the December 30 episode of SmackDown.

Cena and Owens will face off against Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn on the final WWE TV event of 2022.

While it had previously been announced that the 16-time World Champion would be in the building for this show, prior to Cena’s surprise appearance on this week’s episode, we didn’t know that Cena would be wrestling.

The upcoming bout will be Cena’s first match in 2022, with the Hollywood star last wrestling on WWE TV at SummerSlam 2021, unsuccessfully challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.

The Champ may have cut it fine, but following the December 30 show, Cena will have wrestled for WWE every year since his main roster debut in 2002.

In 2020, Cena faced off against ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match. In 2019, Cena wrestled several matches on Raw in January. Before then, Cena was wrestling frequently for the company.

Before his recent appearance, John Cena had last appeared on WWE TV during the June 27 edition of Raw, exactly 20 years after his WWE SmackDown debut against Kurt Angle in 2002.

It had been speculated that Cena will wrestle at next year’s WrestleMania 39 event, which will emanate from California’s SoFi Stadium on April 1 and 2, 2023.
