Johnny Gargano is looking at the current landscape in pro wrestling and doesn’t know where he fits in right now.
Speaking on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, the former NXT Champion discussed the birth of his first child with Candace LaRae, leaving WWE and his current feelings on wrestling.
When asked where he sees himself in the current wrestling landscape, Gargano answered:
That’s the thing, so wrestling’s out of my life right now and there’s so much uncertainty in my mind in the wrestling world because I don’t really know where I fit in. I don’t know where I wanna be, what I wanna do and with wrestling being out of my life, that is my one identity. I’m Johnny Gargano the wrestler. Yeah, I’m Johnny Wrestling. If I’m not Johnny Wrestling then who am I? So I’m kind of having an existential crisis in itself to where I’m going through that.
Johnny Gargano finished up with WWE and NXT 2.0 back in December 2021 after his contract expired following his final match at NXT WarGames.
Gargano has been out of wrestling since then, only appearing on his Twitch channel. He will appear at Wrestlecon during WrestleMania 38 weekend in Dallas.
