Bryan Danielson announced on last night’s (June 22) AEW Dynamite show that he will not be medically cleared for the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
However, Bryan announced that in his place, Zack Sabre Jr would face a handpicked replacement for Bryan, which has had wrestling fans speculating all morning.
One of the most common names creeping up is Johnny Gargano, who is a free agent after his WWE contract expired back in December.
Well, it turns out Gargano will in fact be in Chicago this Sunday, as he announced:
This Sunday (June 26th) I’ll be in Chicago at The Chicago Card Show presented by Midwest Sports Buffet! I’ll be signing autographs in the morning! For more info visit http://midwestsportsbuffet.com
Gargano being in Chicago the same day as Forbidden Door caught the attention of a lot of fans, and Gargano was quick to nip the speculation in bud, hilariously posting an instant follow up tweet, reading:
I promise you this is ridiculously coincidental and has been booked for months. I’ll only be in Chicago for like 8 hours! *I also realize in saying this that only like 5% of you are going to believe I’m actually telling the truth.
I believe Johnny. He seems like an honest man who would never lie to us.
We did however run down seven possible names who could be the replacement for Bryan on the show.
