Tommaso Ciampa has not been seen on WWE television since he was forced out of action with a hip injury last year.
Ciampa revealed several weeks ago that he had just completed stem cell treatment, and we now have an update from Ciampa’s long time friend turned enemy turned friend again.
Johnny Gargano recently spoke to Catch Club, where he provided an update on Ciampa’s situation.
He said:
“He’s currently rehabbing. He’s trying to get back.
“He’s one of the toughest, most resilient guys I’ve ever met … What he’s had to put his body through to do this is so inspirational — the amount of surgeries he’s had, the amount of times he’s come back, the amount of time and effort he’s put into this — and being great at this.”
Gargano was also asked about a potential reunion with Ciampa and a reformation of DIY on the main roster.
He said:
“You never know. I think as long as me and Tommaso Ciampa are in the same company, or in wrestling in general, we’ll always be linked together. There’s always that idea of what would happen if DIY was on ‘Raw’ or ‘SmackDown’ and the dream matches that could come of that.”
Gargano is set to take on Grayson Waller in an Unsanctioned match at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1.
