Johnny Gargano Teases Continuation Of Tommaso Ciampa Feud Outside WWE

Johnny Gargano has teased the continuation of his NXT feud with Tommaso Ciampa outside of WWE.

Gargano vs Ciampa is widely viewed as one of NXT’s greatest ever storylines. Ciampa recently admitted that he wished the storyline was over after Gargano’s NXT Title win over Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: New York in 2019.

During a Twitch livestream, Gargano recalled that the DIY storyline with Gargano challenging Ciampa for the NXT Championship at TakeOver: New York, before Ciampa was forced to relinquish ‘Goldie’ due to a neck injury.

Hinting that the feud could be finished properly ‘somewhere’, Gargano said:

“So, we did find out we were doing that until maybe that day obviously, it wasn’t the ending me and Tommaso wanted. We wanted to be able to finish our feud. It was supposed to be TakeOver: Tampa.

“(It was originally) supposed to be TakeOver: New York and then this was supposed to be TakeOver: Tampa, we wanted to have a huge crowd and all that but that’s not how things work out. Unfortunately. That’s, I guess, the story of our whole feud. It’s just timing and just thing’s not working out. Who knows, maybe we’ll finish it one day somewhere.”

Gargano is currently a free agent after letting his WWE contract expire earlier this month. Following the December 7 edition of NXT, Johnny Wrestling received a send-off from the likes of Ciampa and Shawn Michaels.

Ciampa currently holds the NXT Championship, willing the title during the September 14 premiere episode of NXT 2.0. He will defend ‘Goldie’ against Bron Breakker at New Year’s Evil.
