An update has emerged on Johnny Gargano, following reports that the former NXT Champion has signed a short-term contract extension.
Fightful recently reported that Gargano agreed to one-week extension of his contract, meaning his current deal now ends on December 10, instead of next Friday.
As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Gargano is heavily considering his future, and it is not 100% that he’s leaving WWE after NXT WarGames.
Meltzer noted that WWE offered him a multi-year contract, and didn’t initially offer him the week extension. It was noted that the situation is ‘up in the air’ and that the NXT Triple Crown Champ is ‘certainly exploring all options’.
On Tuesday’s NXT, Gargano and Pete Dunne challenged Carmelo Hayes for the North American Title. Hayes retained his gold, pinning Gargano following interference from Tony D’Angelo.
On December 5, Gargano will team with Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne and LA Knight to do battle with Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Tony D’Angelo and Grayson Waller in WarGames.
