Johnny Gargano WWE Roster Status Update

An update has emerged on Johnny Gargano’s WWE roster status following his return on the August 22 edition of Raw.

Gargano made a surprise appearance on the show, cutting a passionate promo, before dropping Theory with a superkick, after he was interrupted.

Fightful Select previously reported that only a handful of individuals knew about plans for Gargano’s return ahead of time.

PWInsider has now confirmed that Gargano has officially been added to the internal Raw roster as a babyface.

Per the report, Gargano was flown into Toronto on their corporate jet so that he wouldn’t be spotted by fans, and hidden from everyone all day not mentioned on any run sheets, so most didn’t know he was in the arena until he was literally in gorilla position.

It was also noted that some within WWE have taken the appearance of ‘Johnny Gargano’ as a sign that Vince McMahon’s name change edict has been nixed. You can read more about this right here.

This was Gargano’s first WWE appearance after finishing up with the company in December, after his contract expired.

His wife, Candice LeRae, gave birth to their son Quill in February. LeRae finished up with WWE in May. Per PWInsider, she was not in Toronto for WWE Raw.
