Jon Moxley is currently out of action with an elbow infection which forced him to miss out on a match with Kenny Omega at the recent AEW All Out show.
It is thought that he will soon be returning to AEW when it starts weekly TV on TNT in two weeks, but there’s another question that also needs to be answered: what’s next for the IWGP United States Championship?
Moxley won the belt against Juice Robinson on his NJPW debut, and now fans are wondering what’s next for the belt.
Well, it now looks like it’s heading to the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 14 in January 2020, assuming he beats Juice Robinson at the King of Pro Wrestling show on October 14.
Speaking to the NJPW website, Moxley said:
“100% I plan to be at the Tokyo Dome,” Moxley told NJPW’s website. “I don’t know who I’ll be facing, whether I’m still US Champion. But I’ve been in Wrestlemania, in the G1, and this is the next step. Anyone who’s anyone in Japan has competed in the Tokyo Dome, so I absolutely plan on being there.”
Moxley recently said that he would love to face Japanese legend Minoru Suzuki, so perhaps that’s the match we’ll be getting at the Tokyo Dome next year.
