An update has emerged on AEW World Champion Jon Moxley following his brutal spikes spot on the March 19 Dynamite show.
Following the duo’s clash in the main event of Revolution, Jon Moxley and Cope faced off in a street fight for the AEW World Championship on the most recent episode.
One of the most talked-about spots from this match saw Jon Moxley struck by Spike, the nail covered board, before taking a suplex onto the spiked weapon.
The visual of Wheeler Yuta and the referee struggling to remove the spikes from Jon Moxley’s back fuelled some concern for Moxley, with some fans worried about the aftermath.
Fightful Select has now provided an update on the situation, reporting that Jon Moxley was said to be okay after the match.
The report described the reaction to the spot as ‘wild’, noting that there was a lot of disbelief about the spot finally happening following numerous teases.
Moxley ultimately won the street fight, meaning that he will be AEW World Champion heading into the upcoming Dynasty pay-per-view.
He will defend the AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland at next month’s event.
AEW Dynasty will take place on April 6, emanating from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
