Jon Moxley has provided clarification on his injury status following comments he made after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
In the main event of the crossover show, Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the interim AEW World Champion.
After the cameras stopped rolling, Moxley cut a passionate promo addressing the live crowd at the United Center, in which he noted that he was ‘probably concussed’.
In a Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Moxley has stated that he’s fine, and admitted that he probably shouldn’t have said the line referencing a possible concussion.
Moxley is slated to compete in AEW’s second ever Blood & Guts match on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, teaming with Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz to face the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Castagnoli (fka WWE’s Cesaro) is the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club, making his debut at Forbidden Door as Bryan Danielson’s replacement against Zack Sabre Jr. This was reportedly not the original plan for Castagnoli’s AEW debut.
