All Elite Wrestling enters Jon Moxley country tonight (September 8) for its debut event in Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio tonight at the Fifth Third Arena, and Moxley says he is a man on a mission.
Moxley said in a recent interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer that he hopes to make the city a ‘home city’ of sorts for AEW, like Chicago or Jacksonville.
Moxley said:
“I’ve taken it as a personal mission to show AEW and the world how good of a market this can be and how good the fans are here.
“This is a pay-per-view caliber card and that’s by design, we want Cincinnati to be one of our homes.”
Moxley continued:
“I bugged the s–t out of (concerned parties), I text them all the time. I was doing it before the pandemic about a year ago. I was telling them, ‘We’ve got to go to Cincinnati. I’m telling you we’d do so good there.’ I was up their a– for months.”

The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Alex Harrison reports the city hasn’t hosted a pay-per-view show since 2011, and WWE hasn’t held one in the city since 2006.
