Jon Moxley’s NJPW challenge has officially been answered ahead of the upcoming Resurgence US show on August 14.
Yesterday (July 31), NJPW revealed that Jon Moxley had challenged Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson of the Good Brothers to a match at NJPW Resurgence.
The IMPACT Tag Team Champions have now accepted Moxley’s challenge. NJPW shared a video to Twitter of Gallows and Anderson discussing the “surprise” Moxley was teasing.
In the video, The Good Brothers said:
Karl Anderson: “Look at this (touches title belt), the World Tag Team Champions of IMPACT Wrestling. That’s us; The Machine Gun Karl Anderson, the best big man in the entire business, The Big LG, Doc Gallows. August 14th, Resurgence, Jon Moxley, you’re bringing a surprise partner.”
Doc Gallows: “Oh, a mystery partner in Los Angeles, California at the LA Coliseum. Resurgence. You know what it sounds like to me, Mox? It sounds like a mystery Magic Killer for the mystery partner and then a Magic Killer for you Mox. Because the seven-time World Tag Team Champions are coming back home and just like we said, and we always say, it’s that same old recipe, because I like saying it and I’m going to say it again; it’s a Magic Killer, a 1-2-3, and a just too sweet. That’s elite.”

It has been officially announced that Moxley and a mystery partner will face The Good Brothers on August 14. NJPW have confirmed that Moxley’s “surprise” will not be Shota Umino, who will be unable to compete at NJPW Resurgence.
The event will be NJPW’s first US show with a live crowd since February 2020.
