An update has been provided regarding the status of current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley regarding the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15 event.
As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Moxley has not yet made the request to Tony Khan to take time away from AEW for Wrestle Kingdom. If he does, he’ll have to miss the December 30 episode of Dynamite.
Meltzer said:
“He would have to miss the December 30 show, so he would have to miss one show. What I can tell you is that as of this week, no. That wasn’t — as far as Tony Khan, he has not asked for the date. He could ask for the date, but Moxley has not asked Tony for the date. The fact that they made this match on December 2 and it was Tony’s call means that it 100% has nothing to do with the Tokyo Dome.”
As Meltzer mentioned, Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega on the December 2 Dynamite.
Moxley last worked for New Japan in February when he beat Minoru Suzuki to retain the IWGP United States Title at New Beginning in Osaka.
