JONAH Doesn’t Think He Would’ve Fit In With NXT 2.0

JONAH has opened up about his WWE release, admitting that he doesn’t think he would’ve fit in with the rebooted NXT brand.

The former ‘Bronson Reed’ was let go by WWE on August 6, just over a month before the premiere episode of the revamped ‘NXT 2.0’.

On Instinct Culture with Denise Salcedo, the former North American Champion stated that he believes he couldn’t have done anything differently and that Triple H and Shawn Michaels were always pleased with his work.

reflecting on his time in WWE, JONAH said:

“Myself watching the product & it’s no disrespect to anyone that’s on 2.0 but that is not where I would want to be if that was the direction.. It’s never good to lose a job but I don’t think I’d fit in there anyway. I do think I had a lot that could have been done RAW & Smackdown wise. All us guys and girls that get into the wrestling business want to be at a Wrestlemania or a Royal Rumble and I didn’t get to do those things”
“I honestly don’t think I could have done anything differently, you know. I was very close with Hunter and Shawn in NXT and they were very happy with everything I had done. I am one of those people who is constantly checking in. If you need me to change something I can change it. They were big fans of Bronson Reed. The same was said about my meeting with Vince and Bruce Pritchard and John Laurinaitis who were there as well. If they had said ‘we need you to do this, or change characters, or do this,’ I’ve been in the wrestling business long enough to be able to do that. But there was no opportunity for that.”

The former NXT star has debuted for NJPW and IMPACT in the last month, and has been announced for the 2022 PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament.
