Newly crowned IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson has reportedly signed a new deal with the promotion, three days after winning the belt.
The deal, which is apparently for three years, was broken on Wrestling Observer Radio by Dave Meltzer, and comes amidst apparently interest from WWE, although Vince’s company never offered the former NXT star a contract.
Given that fans of NJPW will have been hit hard by the news that both former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA are leaving NJPW when their contracts expire at the end of January.
Robinson’s US Title reign is his second in NJPW, winning it from Cody just 85 days after losing it to the same man earlier this year.
NJPW are likely to be keen on signing some more non-Japanese stars due to the departure of arguably their biggest star, Kenny Omega.
