A former WWE star has commented on the difficulty of getting a match booked in the United States.
As previously reported, KAIRI has confirmed her free agent status despite still working with STARDOM.
Since her WWE contract expiring in December 2021, KAIRI returned to STARDOM in 2022 where she became the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion and currently holds the Artist of Stardom Championship with Natsupoi and Saori Anou of REstart.
On May 12, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion took to Twitter to post a statement in which she noted that she wants to travel and meet people, but there’s only so much she can do.
Noting that she has painfully learned that getting a match set up in the United States is not a given, KAIRI tweeted:
I thankfully get a lot of people asking me to participate more (and that I’m in the way if I don’t participate fully –), so I’d like to respond.
I feel the same way. I would like to travel around the region because I would like to meet many people! I have already told the company that I would like to travel around the region because I would like to meet many people.
However, as a wrestler, I can only tell you what I can do. I leave the decision up to you, and I am looking forward to that day coming and working hard every day to build my body so that I can perform well no matter when the match comes. —-
I learned painfully in America that it is not a given that a match will be set up. I am sure every star player has gone through that path at least once.
But during that time, the players who keep going without stopping will get the glory.
As a professional, I too, never want to just stand still. I will keep going.
KAIRI is scheduled to defend the Artist of Stardom Championships with Natsupoi and Anou against Donna Del Mondo’s Giulia, Thekla and Mai Sakurai at STARDOM’s Flashing Champions 2023 event.
もっと参戦して欲しいというお言葉を有難いことに多くいただくので(フル参戦しないなら邪魔だとも🫠)、お答えさせていただきますね。…
