Karrion Kross Reveals Real Reason For New Look

Karrion Kross Reveals Real Reason For New Look WWE

He’s renowned for being an imposing presence in the wrestling ring, but Karrion Kross has now revealed what led up to his decision to grow his hair.

After WWE Extreme Rules, Kross spoke to David Shoemaker on The Ringer Wrestling Show and spoke about his previous run with WWE:

“Well, I don’t know if I’ve ever said this publicly, but the first time I came out with the mask, there were people laughing in the audience. They were laughing.”

Kross was, of course, referring to his much anticipated main roster call-up after a hugely successfully and critically well-received run in WWE NXT.

Looking back at the impact the reception had upon him, Kross also explored his intent in the wrestling business, stating:

“You want to make the product better. You want your performance to get better. I’m always chasing the perfect match. That’s like my wrestling philosophy. I’m chasing the perfect story and I just always wanted to contribute my best foot forward artistically.

“When I came out with that and I heard people laughing… it felt like I was betraying everything that I wanted to contribute to what I was doing because the fan in me is still alive.”

On the subject of the response since he’s returned with a more true-to-himself portrayal, Kross is positive:

“So the difference between then and now, tonight I walked out and they were singing our theme music.”

However, one change (aside from losing the mask) that has been obvious is that Karrion Kross now has a head of hair!

Speaking about this development, Kross explained that:

“I had gotten a role to do a film. For the character that they wanted me to play, they asked me if I can grow my hair on them. Like, well, if you’re paying me, yes, I will grow my hair out and then the film kept getting pushed back and back.”

Kross is enjoying having hair again after so long without it, though it does have its downsides:

“It’s a lot of maintenance that I don’t really care for, but it’s kind of nice to have it. I haven’t had a full head of hair maybe in 10 years, maybe 6 or 8, maybe I’m exaggerating, but it feels like it’s been a lifetime.”

Kross picked up the win over Drew McIntyre in their Strap Match at Extreme Rules, after Kross’ wife and sidekick Scarlett sprayed pepper spray in McIntyre’s eyes.
