Keith Lee Released By WWE

Several shocking names were released by WWE on November 4, 2021, and one of those was former NXT Champion Keith Lee.

Keith Lee had been with WWE since 2018, and spent two years in NXT until being called up to Raw in 2020.

During his time in NXT, Lee became the first (and at this point) only person to ever hold the NXT Championship and NXT North American Championship simultaneaously.

His main roster run will live in infamy after a hot start including beating Randy Orton on pay-per-view at Payback 2020.

Lee was set to win the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber 2021 this past February, but contracted COVID-19 and was out for several months as he suffered life-threatening heart problems as a result of that.

He reemerged in July and WWE began to repackage him as Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee, but was then released before that could garner any form of momentum.

Lee’s fianceé Mia Yim was released by WWE on the same day. She had been with the company since 2018, firstly in NXT, then debuting on the main roster as a member of RETRIBUTION called RECKONING in September 2020.

The group disbanded in March 2021, and Yim wasn’t used again on TV after that.
