A new report has stated that Keith Lee’s weight was seen as an issue in WWE for a variety of reasons, including medical.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer explained that Lee’s size was viewed as a problem following his return after recovering from health issues as a result of contracting COVID-19.
Meltzer wrote:
“But his weight is an issue, particularly going forward when he would be called on to do longer matches and to avoid injuries. According to those in WWE, it was an issue there because of his coming back from COVID and health issues, and he looked heavier here than three months ago in WWE when he was cut.”
Lee previously revealed that his WWE absence last year between February and July was a result of medical tests revealing that he had inflammation in his heart. Lee had stated that he was essentially forbidden from training until inflammation dropped to ‘normal’ levels.
