Kendal Grey Addresses Upcoming WWE NXT Women’s Championship Clash With Lola Vice At Great American Bash: ‘I’m Not Gonna Let This Opportunity Slide For A Third Time’

Kendal Grey has addressed her upcoming NXT Women’s Championship match against Lola Vice at WWE Great American Bash.

On this week’s WWE NXT show, Kendal Grey faced off against Kelani Jordan, with the winner being crowned the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship of Lola Vice at the upcoming Great American Bash event.

Kendal would go on to pick up the victory, earning her the shot at Lola, and her third shot at the NXT Women’s Championship of the year.

Kendal Grey Opens Up On NXT Women’s Championship Opportunity

Taking to social media following her victory, Kendal opened up on her upcoming title match, and how she plans on not letting the opportunity slide out of her hands for the third time.

She said:

“First thought, 16 days until the Great American Bash, literally crazy, insane. I’m nervous, I’m happy, I’m excited, all the feels. I’ve been training for this, not just starting today, I’ve been training for this since two and a half years ago when I walked into the Performance Center.

“Second thought though, little sad, usually when I’m training my best friend Wren is by my side, and she’s not by me. It sucks because we’re always training together, we’re wrestling together, but she wanted to take time to focus on her recovery and have me focus on my thing, so that’s what we’re doing.

“No matter what, I’m not gonna let this opportunity slide from my hands for the third time, because you know what they say, third time is the charm, and we’re gonna see in 16 days.”

Is Kendal Grey Being Pushed Too Soon In NXT?

With Kendal Grey only officially arriving on the NXT roster last year after wrestling on Evolve prior, she is now set for her third NXT Women’s Championship match this year, with her seen as the favourite to be the next champion.

While Kendal’s performances have made her an instant standout, some fans believe that Kendal is being given too much, too soon, especially compared to women who have been on the NXT brand longer than she has.

However, with a number of spots opening up on the WWE main roster, as well as TKO reportedly looking for faster advancement between NXT and the WWE main roster, some of the longer lasting names in the NXT Women’s division, such as Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan and Tatum Paxley, could make their way up to the main roster some time in the next year.

With Kendal being the standout among the newer faces of NXT, crowning her as champion would be the most sensible option to lead the division into a new era.
