A new report has revealed an update on Kenny Omega’s AEW contract.
The contract status of The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks has been a point of discussion with recent reports of the current AEW World Trios Champions’ deals coming up soon.
Fightful Select (subscription required) have provided an update, noting that numerous sources have claimed to have overheard AEW CEO Tony Khan say that Omega has substantial injury time that “could be” added to his current deal to extend it if All Elite Wrestling chose to.
The report confirms that the option is in fact in Omega’s contract, which is standard with the promotion’s deals.
One talent noted that considering that the IWGP United States Champion has good representation, that might not necessarily be a slam dunk, or might have concessions to it. Those within AEW also claim that they don’t believe the injury time has been added “yet”.
One source claimed in late 2022 that Omega’s deal would be up “soon” and that he could be working without one. Another source familiar with the situation told Fightful that “Omega’s contract would not be up that soon,” and dispelled that rumor.
The latter has ended up being the case with Kenny Omega remaining under contract with AEW as that period has since bypassed.
We will have further updates on Omega’s AEW contract status when they become available.
