Tony Khan has confirmed AEW World Champion Kenny Omega’s opponent for the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view.
Speaking with Robbie Fox, Khan noted that the 2021 AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament finals will take place during the November 13 event.
Pointing out the parallels in Omega and Hangman Page’s rivalry, Khan revealed that Page will challenge Omega for the AEW World Title at Full Gear, stating:
“Now we have this huge Eliminator Tournament coming up, and I’m really excited about it. Announcements are coming up. I’ll have the full bracket this weekend on TNT for the Eliminator Tournament that will culminate in the finals again at Full Gear.”
“Last year it culminated in Kenny vs. Hangman, which is very fitting because now as we go into Full Gear this year we’re back, and now Kenny is the world champion and he’s facing Hangman. As we saw last year, Kenny won the Eliminator Tournament and ended up winning the title from Jon Moxley.”
Page made his AEW return on the October 6 edition of Dynamite as the Joker entrant for the Casino Ladder Match. Page won the match, earning a future shot at the AEW World Championship.
