When Kenny Omega made his entrance at IMPACT’s Hard To Kill pay per view he did so wearing a Bullet Club shirt. There was speculation that this meant a working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling was in the works because of this. Now, we know that was not the case.
Rocky Romero recently spoke with Wrestling Perspective where he revealed that Omega did not get permission to wear the shirt. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“They did not get the okay to do that. They did not. It was a little strange for a second. I think it’s okay now, but it was kinda out of left field. I think everyone was just a little taken aback for a second, but I mean either way I’m sure it was good for Bullet Club t-shirt sales, so I mean it all worked out in the end.”
New Japan and AEW would work out a working relationship in the weeks that follow but we now know it was unrelated to the t-shirt incident.
New Japan star KENTA made his AEW debut last week on Dynamite, attacking Jon Moxley.
