A huge rematch has been announced for the July 15 TripleMania XXXI show, with AEW star Kenny Omega set to attempt to reclaim the title he never lost.

At TripleMania XXXI in Tijuana, Omega will challenge for El Hijo Del Vikingo’s AAA Mega Championship.

Omega previously won this title at Héroes Inmortales XIII in October 2019 from Rey Fenix. This was one of several titles Omega held while he was the ‘belt collector’, in addition to the AEW World and IMPACT World championships.

After becoming the longest reigning AAA Mega Champion ever, the AEW EVP relinquished the title in November 2021, 765 days after becoming champion, as Omega needed to take time off to have multiple surgeries.

El Hijo Del Vikingo won the vacant title at Triplemanía Regia II in December 2021, and has been the titleholder ever since.

Omega and Hijo Del Vikingo notably faced off on the March 22 edition of Dynamite, with Omega defeating Vikingo in the AAA Mega Champion in his AEW debut.

Omega won’t be the only AEW star in action on July 15, with QT Marshall set to team with Taurus to face off against Laredo Kid and Penta El Zero M (Pentagon Jr) in a tag-team ambulance match.

Here’s the announced lineup for TripleMania XXXI in Tijuana:
