Kenny Omega NJPW Reunion Teased Amid AEW Absence

A new video has teased former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and top NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi’s reunion.

At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13 in 2019, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Kenny Omega to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in what became Omega’s final match with the company before signing with All Elite Wrestling.

Since December 2023, Omega has been out of action due to a bout with diverticulitis with his most recent update revealing that his has still not been cleared to make a return to the ring.

On September 26, NJPW posted a new video teaser for an upcoming project that features Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi’s reunion with one another.

Omega took to social media to quote tweet the video and comment on his reunion with Tanahashi. He wrote:

Reflect forward. The first steps.

Omega competed in NJPW for nine years between 2010-2019 before signing with AEW, however, would later make a return in 2023 to compete against Will Ospreay and team alongside Kazuchika Okada.
