Kenny Omega Plans Scrapped Due To ‘Legal Issues’ AEW

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has not appeared on AEW television since the All Out pay-per-view last month, where he and the Young Bucks became the inaugural AEW Trios Champions, beating Adam Page and the Dark Order.

Their reign was cut short due to the now infamous AEW All Out post-show media scrum, where he, the Young Bucks, CM Punk and Ace Steel were involved in a backstage altercation, leading to all five men being suspended from the company, and the AEW Trios Championship, as well as Punk’s AEW World Championship, being vacated.

There has been no updates on the situation in the month since, with all parties involved reportedly being ‘left in the dark’ regarding the ongoing legal investigation into the incident.

Omega’s suspension goes beyond just AEW however, as he was originally set to face off against Hijo Del Vikingo at AAA TripleMania XXX, but was instead replaced in the AAA Mega Championship match by another AEW star, Rey Fenix.

Konnan, the head of talent relations for AAA, admitted that he planned to have Omega record a video tape directed at the winner of the Mega Championship match, but was told that would not be possible due to the current legal issues Omega is involved with.

One name who Konnan did successfully get to be a part of TripleMania XXX was Rey Mysterio. The legendary luchadore and current SmackDown star sent in a video tape that aired at the start of the show.
