Kenny Omega has praised Roman Reigns in response to fans comparing him with the WWE Universal Champion.
Reigns was in action during Sunday’s WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view. As is now tradition when Reigns wrestles, wrestling Twitter started to debate whether WWE’s top guy was actually any good.
Omega took to Twitter to address fans drawing comparisons between himself and the Tribal Chief. Sick of wrestling tribalism, Omega tweeted:
Umm, why am I trending? I’ve done nothing but get sliced up and struggle through rehab all this year.

Oh, I see. We’re still doing that comparing thing every show…
When fans ironically began to argue in the comments section of this post, one user claimed that Reigns couldn’t last 5 minutes in the ring with the former AEW World Champion.
Believing that if they ever had a match, it would shock a lot of people, Omega replied:
“I’m sure he could. He’s their top guy for a reason and works hard to be that guy. I think the match would surprise a lot of people.”
Omega last wrestled at Full Gear 2021, dropping the AEW World Championship to Hangman Page. Since then, Omega has underwent, and has been recovering from multiple surgeries.
A recent report noted that things don’t sound promising for Omega to return to action this month, ahead of Double or Nothing on May 29, and AEW x NJPW four weeks later on June 26.
