AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has reacted to Andrade El Idolo stating that he deserves TNT Championship and AEW World Title shots.
Andrade made his AEW debut earlier this month on Dynamite. While he is yet to wrestle for the promotion, he already has singles gold in his sights.
During last week’s episode of Dynamite, Andrade told Jim Ross that he thinks he deserves a TNT or AEW World Championship match. Omega has since taken issue with Andrade’s assessment.
Explaining how things work in AEW, Omega tweeted:
“I checked the win/loss record. He ain’t even close. Wins and losses count here, brah.”
Omega defends his AEW gold against Jungle Boy on Saturday’s episode of Dynamite. The champion hasn’t lost a sanctioned one-on-one match since All Out 2019.
Andrade will challenge Omega for the AAA Mega Championship in August at TripleMania. Omega has held the AAA gold since October 2019.
Omega also holds the IMPACT World Championship. He is set to defend the title against Sami Callihan at Slammiversary next month.
