Kenny Omega Returns On AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega Returns On AEW Dynamite AEW

After nine months away, former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made his long awaited return to AEW television on tonight’s (August 17) episode of AEW Dynamite.

The show was headlined by the opening match of the AEW Trios Championship tournament, which saw Andrade El Idolo, Rush and Dragon Lee take on the Young Bucks and their mystery partner.

Last week, the Bucks approached Adam Page and requested for him to be their partner, which he rejected, leaving the Young Bucks needing to find an alternative partner for the tournament.

After a week of endless teasing, Kenny Omega was in fact revealed to be the partner, competing in his first match since he lost the AEW World Championship to Adam Page back at Full Gear in 2021.

Omega’s return follows last week’s return of AEW World Champion CM Punk, who had been out of action with a foot injury since June. Punk spoke for the first time since his return to kick off tonight’s show.
