Kenny Omega topped Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s annual ranking of the top 500 wrestlers on the planet, the PWI 500, marking the first time non-WWE performers have headed the list back-to-back after Kazuchika Okada finished top of the pile last year.
Last year’s winner was knocked back into third place behind WWE Champion AJ Styles. Brock Lesnar (4) and John Cena (20) somehow made the cut, despite having only a handful of matches in the qualifying period.
In total WWE competitors made up six of the top 10, with The Miz, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins all placing.
Smash Wrestling rookie Puf rounded out the list in the oft-discussed 500 spot.
By topping the pile, Omega becomes the third Canadian to receive the accolade, following Bret Hart (1993 and 1994) and Chris Benoit (2004).
