A six man tag team match involving Kenny Omega has been announced for next week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling.
At Slammiversary on July 17, Omega will defend the IMPACT World Championship against Sami Callihan. Omega and Callihan are set to do battle next Thursday in tag team action.
IMPACT has announced that Omega and The Good Brothers will face Callihan, Moose and Chris Sabin. Moose unsuccessfully challenged Omega for his gold at the Against All Odds pay-per-view before Callihan attacked Omega and The Young Bucks.
Callihan was fired by Don Callis for the attack, before Callihan was reinstated and named the Slammiversary challenger for Omega’s IMPACT World Championship. Callihan recently announced his engagement to IMPACT star Jessicka Havok.
Kenny Omega is reportedly only wrestling “important” matches at the moment, due to a number of injuries. He will defend his AEW World Championship against Jungle Boy this week on Saturday Night Dynamite.
It has been reported that the end of Omega’s IMPACT World Title reign was planned out before he even won the gold at Rebellion in April.
