The latest episode of Impact Wrestling saw Kenny Omega give his first television interview after winning the AEW World Championship last Wednesday. A major selling point of this week’s show, Impact were expecting a large increase in viewership.
Omega’s appearance helped Impact produce an impressive audience, but not just on TV. This Tuesday’s edition of Impact Wrestling achieved its highest ever viewership on its Twitch stream.
Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston took to Twitter to show the increase of Twitch viewers over the Tuesday stream. The viewership peaked above 52,000 during the long-awaited segment. Brandon noted that this number dwarfs the previous record, which sat at 17000 viewers.

Previous record was around 17,000. 52,000 is 3x that.

Dave Meltzer also weighed in on Impact’s success, noting that he’d heard these numbers were a surprising for all:
The little bit I've heard is that it surprised even the people who expected it to do great. https://t.co/YVBBrtg5O4

During Omega’s interview, it is teased that Kenny might challenge for one of the titles on Impact. With a ‘huge announcement’ promised for tonight’s AEW Dynamite, Omega and Don Callis are both set to be on the show.
With so much success coming from this first appearance, it probably will not be long until we see another AEW-Impact crossover.
