KENTA Set To Return To Pro Wrestling NOAH

NJPW star KENTA will return to Pro-Wrestling NOAH for the January 1, 2022 event at Budokan Hall.

KENTA’s return was announced during this weekend’s ‘NOAH the BEST’ show. NOAH has since shared a video on Twitter of KENTA revealing that he’ll be in action on January 1:

KENTA’s opponent for the show has yet to be announced.

The Japanese star was a key player for NOAH during the promotion’s early days. KENTA debuted for NOAH in July 2001, following Mitsuharu Misawa leaving All Japan Pro Wrestling to form the promotion in 2000.

KENTA went on to hold GHC Heavyweight, Junior Heavyweight and Tag Team gold in NOAH before leaving to join WWE in 2014, after attending a WWE try-out with NOAH’s blessing.

His most recent match for the promotion took place in 2018 at the Naomichi Marufuji 20th Anniversary show, while under contract with WWE.

KENTA’s NOAH return will take place exactly one week before NJPW and NOAH go head-to-head on the third night of Wrestle Kingdom 16. You can read about the inter-promotional event here.
