Former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens has been out of action since the first half of October to undergo knee surgery, and via Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the return period for the ‘Prizefighter’ is now apparent.
Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“Kevin Owens is due late February/early March, but they may hold him off until after WrestleMania.”
The storyline reason for Owens’ hiatus was an attack by Bobby Lashley, which seemingly turned Owens babyface and Lashley heel in the process.
Owens’ former tag team partner Sami Zayn, also currently out of action due to injury, is also rumored to be returning around WrestleMania time, so it is possible the two returns will be related in some way.
As well as his Universal Title reign, Owens is a former NXT, United States, and Intercontinental Champion, and to say his often hilarious antics and always great wrestling have been missed on Raw during his time on the sidelines would be quite the understatement.
